Universal VPN Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Universal VPN ("Universal VPN", "we", "our", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application ("App"), website ("Website"), and related services (together, the "Service"). "You" or "your" means the individual using the Service.

Our guiding principle is to collect only the minimal data required to operate a reliable, secure VPN service. We do not log your online activity. We encourage you to read this policy and our Terms & Conditions together.

No-Logs Policy

Universal VPN is a no-logs VPN service. When you use our VPN, we do not collect, store, or have access to:

  • Your browsing history, traffic destination, or data content
  • DNS queries or websites you visit
  • Connection logs (your IP address, VPN server IP, connection timestamps, or session duration)
  • Bandwidth usage tied to your identity or online behavior

We are not able to link your account or device to specific online activity. We cannot disclose what we do not have. Any minimal data we collect (e.g. for account or payment) is kept separate from VPN usage and is not used to track or profile your internet activity.

Our Commitment to Privacy

We respect your right to privacy. This policy describes our practices regarding the collection, use, disclosure, and protection of Personal Information. "Personal Information" means information that can identify you, such as email address, payment-related data, or information about your device or browser when linked to you.

By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you provide information about another person, you confirm you have their consent or legal authority to do so.

Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide and improve the Service:

  • Account information: Email address and password (or other sign-in method) when you create an account.
  • Payment information: Billing and payment details are processed by third-party payment providers (e.g. Apple, Google, Stripe). We may receive transaction status and limited billing information (e.g. country, last four digits) but not full card numbers.
  • Device and app information: Operating system, app version, device type, and similar technical data to support compatibility and troubleshooting. This is not linked to your VPN traffic or browsing.
  • Optional analytics: If you opt in, we may collect anonymized usage or diagnostic data (e.g. crash reports) to improve the app. You can opt out at any time.

We do not collect your real IP address in connection with your VPN sessions in a way that identifies your activity. We do not log which sites you visit or what you do while connected to our VPN.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: provide and maintain the Service; process payments and prevent fraud; send you service-related and security communications; respond to support requests; improve the app and fix issues (including via optional anonymized diagnostics); send optional marketing (you can opt out at any time); and enforce our terms and protect our rights. We do not use your information to track or profile your VPN or browsing activity.

We Do Not Sell Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your Personal Information to third parties for advertising or other commercial purposes. We do not share your VPN usage or browsing data with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties for their marketing.

Sharing of Information

We do not share your Personal Information except: (1) with service providers who help us operate the Service (e.g. payment processors, hosting, support, analytics) under strict confidentiality and only for the purposes we specify; (2) when required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property; (3) in connection with a merger, sale, or restructuring (with notice as required by law). Our service providers do not have access to your VPN traffic or browsing activity because we do not collect or store it.

Security & Data Protection

We use technical, organizational, and physical measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest where applicable. Our systems are designed so that we do not retain VPN session or traffic data. No system is 100% secure; you provide information at your own risk, and we encourage you to use a strong password and keep your account details secure.

Data Retention

We retain your account and related Personal Information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and comply with law. If you request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable time, except where we must retain it for legal, audit, or dispute resolution purposes. We do not retain VPN activity or connection logs because we do not collect them.

Your Rights

  • Right of Access – the right to be informed of and request access to the personal data we process about you;
  • Right to Rectification – the right to request that we amend or update your personal data where it is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • Right to Erasure – the right to request that we delete your personal data;
  • Right to Restrict – the right to request that we temporarily or permanently stop processing all or some of your personal data;
  • Right to Object – the right, at any time, to object to us processing your personal data on grounds relating to your particular situation; the right to object to your personal data being processed for direct marketing purposes;
  • Right to Data Portability – the right to request a copy of your personal data in electronic format and the right to transmit that personal data for use in another party's service; and
  • Right not to be subject to Automated Decision-making – the right to not be subject to a decision based solely on automated decision-making, including profiling, where the decision would have a legal effect on you or produce a similarly significant effect.

Aggregate & Anonymized Information

Personal Information does not include "aggregate" information. Aggregate information is data we collect about a group or category of services or users, from which individual customer identities have been removed. In other words, information about how you use a service, or the results of such use, may be collected and combined with similar information others, but no Personal Information will be included in the resulting data. We can extract statistical data from your content in order to provide other users or partners without connecting it to any personal data such as name or e-mail address.

Aggregate data helps us understand trends and user needs so that we can better consider new products and services, and tailor existing products and services to customer desires. You understand that we may commercialize aggregate information by any and all means, and that you will receive no payment or other consideration in respect of such use.

Third-Party Services & Tracking

We may use third-party services (e.g. Mixpanel, analytics, support tools) that process limited data to help us operate and improve the Service. These providers are bound by contract to protect your data and cannot use it for their own advertising. You can opt out of non-essential analytics or marketing by emailing hello@universalvpnproxy.com or using in-app settings where available.

California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights: (1) Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; (2) Right to delete your personal information, subject to exceptions; (3) Right to correct inaccurate personal information; (4) Right to limit use of sensitive personal information; (5) Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights. Choice (Marketing Opt-Out)

Use of the Service by Children

You must be 13 years of age or older in order to establish an account on and use the Service. In the event you become aware that somebody under the age of 13 has enrolled without parental permission, please inform us immediately.

Online Links to Other Sites

If any part of the Service links you to websites, enables the download of third party software, or integrates third party software, those websites, software or related services are not subject to this Privacy Policy. Any Personal Information you provide on the linked pages is provided directly to this third-party and is subject to that third party's provider's privacy policy.

Except as described above, we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of websites to which we link. Links from our site to third parties or other websites are provided for your convenience. We encourage you to learn about the privacy practices of each web site before providing them with Personal Information.
